Humane Education Program
Through education, we promote community awareness of pet overpopulation, abuse and neglect, and offer humane solutions. To accomplish this, we plan and participate in community events that provide information on our education and spay/neuter programs. In addition, we have designed a city and countywide school curriculum for grades K-6 advocating kindness to animals and responsible pet ownership, with an emphasis on breaking the direct link between animal abuse and violence toward people. This curriculum is taught in schools, at the public library, and with the Tombigbee Girl Scouts.
